Kilifi county governor Gideon Munga’ro on April 25th said the county government of Kilifi will not take any responsibility for the latest development in Kilifi County that has led to the death of 90 people and counting.
Governor Mung'aro while speaking on Citizen TV defended his government saying it had no idea of what was happening in the county.
Munga’ro denied having any knowledge of the existence of Mackenzie before and that he only learned of his existence two weeks ago.
Pressed on whether the county had point men to man the area, the first-time governor said his county depends on the ward administrator. And the national government’s intelligence.
So far 32 people have been rescued from the farm as 17 more bodies were exhumed on Tuesday bringing the total number of those who died as a result of the radical teachings to 90.
Police are still detaining the controversial pastor as investigations into the matter continue.
