Athletics Kenya has announced a squad of 35 athletes set to represent the nation at the 31st Olympic Games in Paris, France, from July 26th to August 11th this year.

The roster, which combines seasoned veterans with promising newcomers, was revealed on Saturday following the conclusion of the national trials held at Nyayo Stadium over two days.

Beatrice Chebet, the world record holder in the 10,000 meters, and Faith Kipyegon, a two-time Olympic champion, are the standout names on the team. Both athletes are set to compete in multiple events in Paris, with Chebet making her Olympic debut in the 10,000 and 5,000 meters, and Kipyegon defending her 1500 meters title while also competing in the 5,000 meters.

Mary Moraa, the reigning 800m World Champion, will compete in both the 400m and 800m events, teaming up with Lillian Odira in the latter.

The women's 3000 meters steeplechase team features former junior world champions Faith Cherotich and Jackline Chepkoech alongside world record holder Beatrice Chepkoech. On the men's side, former junior champions Amos Serem, Abraham Kibiwott, and Simon Koech will compete.
