Malkia striker’s player Veronica Adhiambo has assured safety on her side after the traumatic earthquake on Monday in Turkey and Syria. However, she hasn’t had any physical injury but she is affected psychologically after the devastating experience.

A US geological survey states the earthquake was one of the strongest in more than a century.

The 23-year-old plays her professional volleyball in Tarsus Belediyespor, for the Turkish one league which is approximately 194 kilometres from Nurdagi hence the impact mostly caused an effect in Turkey. Adhiambo joined Tarsus from the Kenya pipeline last year after showing impressive play at the FIVB World Championship with the Malika Strikers.

Turkey's disaster and emergency management confirm that the provinces affected intensely across Turkey include Kahramanmaras, Hatay, Osmaniye, Gaziantep, Sanliurfa, Diyarbakir, Malatya and Adana.

The Sunday match against Lima Spor Kulubu has been postponed due to the uncertainty of the earthquake.

The Kenyan international player has been on top form playing for Tarsus in the second division of the Turkish league where they are currently in the ninth position with 20 points
