Irate herders in Kajiado on Saturday put to death a pride of Six Lions from Amboseli National Park. In a statement on Saturday, the Kenya Wildlife Service said that the Pride of 6 killed 11 goats and a dog on Friday annoying the villagers who decided to descend on the Lions in anger

They also added that the conflict between Humans and wildlife is getting more and more tense as this isn't the first case that was reported to the Kenyan Wildlife Services.

Just a few days ago, the oldest lion in Amboseli Park, 19-year-old Loonkito was speared to death by Maasai Warriors after invading their livestock..  Local conservationists condemned the killing of wildlife and urged the residents to not kill lions and look for better solutions to solve the Human-wildlife conflict

In recent years human wildlife conflict has increased with animals wandering into neighbouring villages, this has been attributed to the expansion of towns and cities which in turn affect the migration and hunting grounds for the wildlife.

Back in 2021 July, a lion strayed from its habitat in the Nairobi National Park into the Crowded neighbourhood, the park is just seven Kilometers from the heart of Kenya's Capital hence the conflict.

In December of 2019, a lion mauled a man to death outside the park, in March 2016 another Lion was shot dead after it attacked and injured a nearby resident.

Months earlier, in February 2016, two lions wandered through Kibera, before returning to the park, and days later more lions were spotted in town.

Kenya is estimated to have about 2,500 lions, this is data from the first-ever national wildlife census conducted in 2021.
