Kajiado Governor Joseph Ole Lenku has told off MCAs against lobbying politics over development in the county.
Lenku said this in regard to the United Democratic Alliance (UDA) members of the County Assembly who absconded from the county training on Transformed and Sustainable Kajiado despite having an official invite.
Lenku says that he is not going to exchange words with those who have decided to criticize his leadership.
Speaking at Maanzoni, Lenku voiced his disappointment over his MCAs refusal to attend the training that was aimed at discussing modulated pastoralism, livable towns and climate change, factors which are affecting Kajiado County.
The members of the county assembly who refused to attend the training instead called for a press conference to air their dissatisfaction with bursary distribution in the county.
The governor has denied those allegations, stating that the issue of bursary distribution is strictly based on legislation passed by the county assembly. He, therefore, charged the MCAs to stop misleading the masses with these critics.
Lenku says that he will not be pulled back by the propaganda and hence asks the members of the county assembly to remain focused on the development of Kajiado County.
Those in attendance at the training have called upon their fellow MCAs to put their differences aside and embrace the unity of purpose.
This has also led to the county assembly declining to approve three County Executive Committee members (CEC) appointed by Lenku to fill the vacant ministries considering that out of 25 elected MCAs, 13 are UDA allies notwithstanding the current speaker Justus Ngussur and his deputy.
