Former Presidential Aspirant Jimmy Wanjigi claps back at President Ruto on taxing the Kenyatta family.
During a church service at Power of Faith International, Kiambu County, Wanjigi warned Ruto and his allies to leave both Mama Ngina Kenyatta and Uhuru Kenyatta alone or they would suffer the repercussions.
“Going after Mama Ngina and the late Jomo Kenyatta you are now touching a live wire,” Wanjigi said.
Wanjigi pointed out that President Ruto's aggressive accusation against the former first family was an indication that the current government are likely to go after properties owned by Mt. Kenya people.
“If you are trying to take away Mzee Jomo’s property, it means our property is not even safe,” he said.
Safina leader Jimmy Wanjigi challenged Ruto to settle disputes with Former President Uhuru Kenyatta rather than dragging the name of former President Jomo Kenyatta, whom he stated was not here to defend himself.
“Former President Jomo Kenyatta is no longer with us and he should not be dragged into this tax debate. I know you have a problem with Uhuru and you should face him directly instead of going after the whole family,” Jimmy Wanjigi stated.
Jimmy Wanjigi's comments come days after Mama Ngina Kenyatta, the former first lady of Kenya, urged the Kenya Kwanza administration to confiscate her wealth if she has failed to pay taxes.
