Barely a day after Raila Odinga led his supporters to the streets to protest against the leadership of President William Ruto, the Kenya Kwanza government has had demands directed at Raila Odinga’S ODM Party.
The Kenya Kwanza Members of Parliament requested that the police investigate the evidence and file charges against Raila and his backers in a statement seen by Look UP Digital on Tuesday, March 21 by the majority leader of the National Assembly, Kimani Ichung'wah.
The Members of Parliament claimed that by announcing an unauthorized public holiday, Raila and his Azimio La Umoja group broke the law.
Kenya Kwanza claimed that former president Uhuru Kenyatta was promoting chaos in order to obstruct ongoing inquiries into the theft of the nation's finances while in power.
“We request that the police inspector general not only detain the young boys being paid to riot. If the buck stops at the door of Odinga, go for Odinga, if the buck stops at his sponsor's door, go for them,” Kimani Ichung'wah advised.
The coalition warned that Azimio La Umoja will keep breaking the law during the upcoming protests if there is not adequate accountability.
The coalition of President William Ruto stated that they will write to the Registrar of Political Parties to request that money intended for the Orange Democratic Movement be withheld because Raila was allegedly planning on causing more chaos in the upcoming weeks and months (ODM).
The MPs are asking the Registrar of Political Parties to divert funds intended for the ODM Party to those who suffered losses to their businesses and property.
"Our Secretary-General will demand that the money meant for ODM be given to our party as compensation for the destruction that took place in the Kisumu office," Ichung'wa revealed.
Cleophas Malala, the secretary-general of the United Democratic Alliance (UDA) Party, questioned why Raila did not deliver his petition to President Ruto as he had initially intended.
