Embakasi East Member of Parliament, Babu Owino, and Nairobi Governor Johnson Sakaja, have recently been involved in a heated online exchange on various social media platforms.

The dispute initially erupted when the Outspoken MP voiced his criticism of Sakaja's school feeding program, labelling it as a scandal. The MP expressed strong disapproval of the Dishi na County initiative, which was inaugurated in August, asserting that it failed to provide substantial benefits to schoolchildren in Nairobi.

A claim that Nairobi Governor rubbed it off on social media. However Babu Owino has taken the beef a notch higher giving Kenyans and Nairobians a glimpse of how Sakaja allegedly wants to syphon the county dry.

In a shocking revelation by Embakasi East Babu Owino, Nairobi Governor Johnson Sakaja and high-ranking officials within the county government are allegedly embroiled in a scheme to syphon off a staggering Sh600 million under the guise of disaster management funds.

The scandalous plan is said to exploit the anticipated El Niño rains to divert these funds into their pockets.

It is claimed the Governor intends to utilise a company he indirectly owns, Absit Company, to execute the money-grabbing operation under the pretext of garbage collection.

This raises serious concerns, as his firm was involved in purchasing eight trucks that are currently engaged in garbage collection activities within the city, seemingly in violation of the law.

Sources allege that the company received a hefty payment of Sh120 million for these services.

Insiders within the Nairobi County government have revealed that key officials, particularly from the finance and planning departments, have meticulously mapped out the plan and are waiting for the right moment to put it into action.

Notable individuals involved in the alleged scheme include Stephene Majura and Vincent Muhanji, both of whom hold positions in the disaster and emergency management sectors.

An anonymous source expressed their apprehension, stating, "They will steal the money. We know there is nothing going on in preparation for the rains."

Adding another layer of complexity to the situation, it has been reported that Majority Leader Peter Imatwok has publicly voiced his grievances, claiming that Sakaja solicited his assistance in raising approximately Sh150,000,000 for various operations, including addressing ongoing investigations.

Meanwhile, a section of workers hired to unclog drainage systems ahead of the anticipated rains has been protesting on the streets of Nairobi, citing non-payment of their wages as the primary cause for their unrest.

Sources suggest that the clandestine plot to embezzle funds was hatched within the county government's procurement department, banking on the fact that this area may not receive the same level of scrutiny as others, making it a prime target for their alleged malfeasance.

Babu Owino alleges that Sakaja's current absence from Kenya, residing in Dubai, has been attributed to a recent visa debacle involving the United States.

The U.S. The Embassy in Nairobi reportedly denied visas to Sakaja and several other high-ranking government officials due to allegations of corruption.

Last month, detectives conducted a raid on Sakaja's private office, seeking evidence related to allegations of witness intimidation and threats in an ongoing money laundering investigation.

The officers conducted interviews with staff members and summoned others for further questioning.

It is alleged that one of Sakaja's personal assistants, along with a group of bloggers affiliated with him, were implicated in paying for online harassment, bullying, intimidation, and threats directed at witnesses involved in the money laundering probe.
