During the burial of the late professor George Magoha at his home in Yala Siaya county, the widow of the late Magoha took to the dais to address the critics who were upset that she did not wail as she welcomed the body into the home.
Dr Barbara Magoha who is of Nigerian descent from Calabar said that she did acknowledge that some cultures were good but there were others that had to be let go.
“People were upset, some astonished that I did not wail and cry to enter the home. Sorry to let you down, but my new position in the family does not allow me to show a public display of emotions.” Said Dr. Barbra
Barbara said she mourned her husband the Nigerian way.
“I had to mourn my husband in two ways. My husband was 70 years and, in my culture, the further you are from 70 the more the rejoicing.” Dr. Barbra Mourned.
