"I Appreciate Your Skillfulness and Smartness in Outsmarting us" Atwoli Tells Ruto During Labor Day Celebrations

COTU Secretary General Francis Atwoli on Monday May 1st affirmed his support for President William Ruto and his government.

Atwoli who spoke during the labour day Celebrations at Uhuru Gardens in Nairobi thanked President William Ruto for accepting to work with him despite different political affiliation.

"We wish to thank you and your government for being a true democrat, very tolerant, embracing all as well as working with all regardless of their political affiliation I'm the previous election us and me personally who was one of your fiercest critic." Atwoli stated.

The outspoken politician who was sure that president Ruto wouldn't take the reigns of power ate humble pie as he congratulated president Ruto.

"I was among the first leaders to accept your presidency and appreciate your skillfulness and smartness in outsmarting those of us who had expected to win the elections simply because our chairman was a sitting president of Republic of Kenya."

In the run-up to the 2022 August elections Atwoli was a fierce critic of President Ruto who at the time was the Deputy president.

The two engaged in a public spat that saw them call each other names as the political temperature rose on the country.

Atwoli and the government led by President Ruto led the 58th labour day Celebrations at Uhuru Gardens in Nairobi.

The day is marked to celebrate strides made in the labour force.
