Deputy President Rigathi Gachagua urged President William Ruto to step aside and leave him to deal with the opposition.

During a thanksgiving church ceremony in Kerugoya, Kirinyaga County, Gachagua claimed that Raila's situation can only be solved by the son of Mau Mau.

“The medicine of Raila Odinga is the son of Mau Mau. President William Ruto please stay aside we will fight this man,” Rigathi Gachagua said.

The Deputy President continued by saying that one of his responsibilities is to uphold President Ruto's authority.

“My duty as the Deputy President is to protect the leadership of President William Ruto. And no one will bother him under my watch,” he said.

The Chairperson Council of Governors, Ann Waiguru encouraged Ruto to disregard recent claims made by the opposition over the 2022 presidential election results.

“Let us not focus on destructions that have no course. If they did not defeat you when they intimidated you and harassed all the people around you, how will they defeat you now that you have moved closer to God and you have the government?”

Ndindi Nyoro, a Kiharu MP, pleaded with the head of state not to be alarmed by assertions from the opposition that Raila Odinga won the 2022 Presidential elections.

“I pity those who think they can scare you, you don’t get scared,” Nyoro said.

The MP continued by saying that Azimio leaders who planned a public Baraza on Monday will have the support of the government provided no property is damaged.
