Huge Task for Shujaa in Los Angeles Sevens

Kenya rugby national team Shujaa will have several tests to prove themselves to the world as they are set to play in a tough group in HSBC Sevens World Rugby Series.

The series which will kick off on the 25th in Los Angeles will see Shujaa playing Australia at 3:43 pm on Saturday. Both teams have met six times with Shujaa having won one game and Australia winning five matches as one game ended in a draw. The last meeting was on 14th December 2019 where Shujaa won 12-7.

Another fixture is scheduled to take place on Sunday 26th where Shujaa will play against four-time winners of the HSBC Sevens World Rugby, Fiji and later play against japan.

Shujaa and Fiji have met 20 times in the HSBC series, Fiji has been registering good results against Shujaa since they have won 18 matches while Shujaa won only 2 matches. 

Both teams have also played against each other in the IRB Sevens World Rugby Series. Fiji has won three of the four times they have met, the Kenya Shujaa's winning only one match.

Another tough opponent that Shujaa will face is Japan who has won three out of the four times the teams have played, Shujaa beat japan in just a single match.

In the current HSBC Sevens World Rugby Series, Kenya’s Shujaa are at position twelve with 21 points. New Zealand is the series leader with 85 points, South Africa sevens are in the second position with 76 points and Samoa sevens are in the third position with 68 points.

After the Los Angeles sevens, Shujaa will prepare for another world rugby series, the Vancouver Sevens, which will commence on the 3rd of March.
