In a birthday message published on January 7th, former president Uhuru Kenyatta reaffirmed that former prime minister Raila Odinga is his brother.

As the ODM leader celebrated his 78th birthday, Uhuru also wished his friend God's blessings.

"I would like to take this opportunity in the new year, to wish my brother and friend Raila Odinga a happy birthday. May God's blessings and favour be upon you today and in the years to come," read the statement in part.

Martha Karua, the leader of the Narc Kenya party, said Raila was one of Kenya's most revolutionary politicians.

"Happy birthday Raila Odinga captain of Azimio and Kenya’s foremost transformational leader. May you enjoy many happy returns," she sayed.

Suna East Member of Parliament, a close friend and confidant of Raila's, also took time to recognize his party leader, praising him as a person who never gives up despite the difficulties he encounters.

"We are lucky to have in our country a man of your fortitude. We are glad you never give up. Wishing you good health. May Allah give you a successful year ahead," Junet wrote.

President William Ruto's allies were also not left out in wishing the Azimio leader a wonderful year, as some described him as a leader of his own kind.

“Happy Birthday Baba RailaOdinga. May the Almighty continue to bless you with good health and happiness,” former Mombasa Governor Hassan Ali Joho wrote.
