The County Government of Kilifi, under the stewardship of H.E Governor Gideon Mung'aro, OGW, endeavours to strengthen education in the region. For this reason, the Governor held a consultative meeting with Hon. Members of the County Assembly, to forge a way forward, and among other deliberations, a significant resolution was reached: An increase in bursary allocation amounts to actualise the dreams of needy students in Kilifi.
In line with Governor Mung'aro's manifesto, Kilifi County is inclined to transform the education system by allocating enough resources to ensure smooth service delivery and help parents and guardians struggling to take their children to school.
The bursary Kitty initially allocated for 350M will be increased to 1B effective from the next financial year.
Parents and guardians of needy students get stressed when taking their children to school, and increased funding will relieve them.
Over the previous years, only a few learners have been benefiting from full scholarships; thus, Governor Mung'aro has seen it prudent for the bursary kitty to be increased to have more beneficiaries.
The Bursary Kitty targets students in secondary schools, vocational training centres, colleges, and universities.
