All the 18 teams are to play off in different grounds across the country.
Gor Mahia players are set to face Nzoia Sugar, who are currently on the second position on the table, at the Sudi stadium in Bungoma during the second leg of the 2022/23 Football Kenya Federation Premier League scheduled to happen Wednesday afternoon. The league is set after a one week break under a new sponsorship with Mozzart Bet.
All the 18 teams are to play off in different grounds across the country. Gor Mahia 'Serikal' currently top the table by a lead with 37 points after a successful play of 17 matches whereas the Nzoia sugar come in second with a total of 33 points from the same total matches.
The Nzoia sugar have so far lost 2 battles this season including the loss to Mathare recently last week after a score of 2-1. K’Ogalo triumphed against the sugar millers during the first leg that was scheduled at the Nyayo stadium on the 19th November 2022.
The Bungoma based side also battled the Poster Rangers and FC Talanta earlier, where they came in a draw and a no score match respectively .The sugar millers have recorded two wins while the K’Ogalo has a one triumph where two of the matches have ended in draws .
Other matches expected to playoff today include Sofapaka who is to battle the Mathare United at the Moi International Sports Center Kasarani at 1pm, AFC Leopards versus Wazito at Nyayo Stadium, Vihiga Bullets versus Posters Rangers at Bukhungu ,Bidco United versus Nairobi City Stars in Thika Municipal Stadium , Ulinzi Stars versus Kakamega Boyz at Ulinzi Sport Complex ,KCB versus FC Talanta at Kasarani Annex at 3:15pm and Kenya Police versus Kariobangi Sharks at Kasarani (MISC) at 3:15 pm .
The Tusker team are fourth in the league with a total of 33 points after a defeat from Bandari FC during the first leg that was scheduled at Mbaraki stadium in Mombasa .The AFC Leopards are out to avenge their loss to Wazito FC earlier in January after a 2-1 score .The Bankers on the other hand , who currently have 33 points might make progress by moving in second after defeating the FC Talanta in today’s match .
Benson Omala , K’Ogalo striker , leads the top scorer’s chart with a total of 17 goals and is the star of today’s match while his opponent Joseph Mwangi who has seven goals is expected to lead the Sugar Millers attack.
