Former President Uhuru Kenyatta has joined the citizens of Namibia in expressing condolences for the passing of President Hage G. Geingob, who died on Sunday.
The former Head of State eulogised Late Namibia President Hage Geingob as a great leader who contributed immensely to the liberation of Namibia.
“No words can sufficiently convey the magnitude of the loss as President Geingob was a distinguished servant of the people, an outstanding statesman and a great leader full of wisdom,” he stated.
Uhuru Kenyatta went on to say that he considers himself fortunate to have engaged with President Geingob, cherishing the wisdom and knowledge of the statesman, which was shared with humility and grace.
“We will always remember and cherish his huge contribution to the welfare of the people of Namibia and Africa as a whole,” former President Kenyatta added.
During this sorrowful time for the Namibian people, Former President Kenyatta encouraged them to uphold the legacy of the late President Geingob. He also offered prayers for God's comfort to be with them as they mourn the loss of their departed leader.
“Our thoughts and prayers are with his family, the Government and the people of Namibia during this difficult time of grieving and loss,” former President Kenyatta said.
Late Namibia President Hage G. Geingob was the country's third President and had been in office since 2015.
The veteran leader passed away on Sunday in a hospital in Namibia's capital, Windhoek, as announced by the presidency.
