Former Bungoma East Member of parliament Mark Barasa found brutally murdered at his home in Tongaren, Bungoma County.
According to reports, the deceased was partially burned with acid and had the eyes, tongue, and left hand missing.
The family had initially searched for him in all places and even informed the media thinking he had lost his memory and was unable to find his way home.
The body of the deceased is now at the Cherengany Nursing Home mortuary.
The family members are now appealing to the government to speed up investigations to find out who did it.
The 99-year-old Mark Barasa was the first Bungoma East Member of Parliament who served 1963 to 1969. Barasa was married to four wives and had 27 children.
The family praised him as a leader who nurtured critical developments in Bungoma East during his tenure as a Member of Parliament such as Webuye Pan Papers, Lugulu Girls, Chesamisi Boys, and Friends School Kamusinga.
