FKF NEC Representative has Appreciated the Appointment of Captain Ruto as the New KPA Managing Director

The appointment of Bandari FC chairman Captain William Ruto, as the Kenya Ports Authority (KPA) managing director, has been appreciated by the Football Kenya Federation.

Gabriel Mghendi, who is the FKF National Executive Committee representative in the Coast region, has welcomed the appointment of Captain Ruto saying it will aid Coastal football, especially for Bandari which is the only team in the top tier of Kenyan soccer.

However, Mghendi appreciated President William Ruto for believing in football administrators by tasking them with top managerial positions in the government.

“Captain William Ruto is a face of success since his performance at Bandari FC is evident. Based on the facts on the FKF assessment test, we trust him to deliver at the KPA managerial job”. Says Mghendi.

“Captain Ruto has good managing skills as he managed Bandari FC and delivered good results. We have trust that he will perform in his new job as well as promoting sports in the Coastal region” He added.

The FKF NEC higher representative alluded that Bandari FC is now in a good position to win the Football Kenya Federation, that is FKFPL title since one of them is now in a top KPA position.

In addition, Mghendi said Ruto’s appointment as the Kenya Ports Authority boss will foster football in the region to the top levels as other clubs will learn from him and Bandari FC. The parastatal will also fund and drive the Coastal football agenda.

Nevertheless, Mghendi is seeking to have a meeting with the new KPA boss to plan how to promote Bandari FC to the top levels. Still, Mghendi has called President William Ruto to consider sports administrators in his government jobs appointments.

“Sports sector has a lot of potential administrators who can be trusted to take up the positions and deliver in the government,” Says Mghendi

Kipchumba Murkomen, the Transport Cabinet Secretary issued a gazette notice of Captain Ruto’s appointment.
