Confederation Africa Federation(CAF) elite coaching instructors have hosted a 10-days course to train 14 FKF coaching instructors.

The event that has already kicked off is held at Kenya Institute of Special Education(KISE). The course is the first to be conducted all over Africa and the main objective is to produce new coaching instructors that will be key in improving football in the African continent.

CAF is also introducing new conventions and preparing new instructors in the continent. The good quality of coaching instructors will produce high ranked coaches.

CAF elite coaching instructor and FIFA technical instructor Abraham Mabratu has alluded that the intention of the course is to give recognition of the courses based on the grades and performances of the new coaching staff.

“The aim of the course is to give acknowledgement to the courses based on the grades and performances within the next ten days.” Says Mabratu.

Coach and coach instructor Zedekiah Otieno has welcomed the course saying it has come at the right time as CAF is recruiting new coaching instructors and the training will be vital in improving African soccer.

“Quality coaching instructors will churn out good coaching staffs who will transfer the knowledge to the players hence improving team’s performance, the course has also come in a time where CAF is grading the coaches from D license to Pro license”. Says Otieno.

Beldine Odemba who is also a female coach intends to get the knowledge and get the opportunities to actualize them locally and outside the country.

“Being a CAF instructor is much bigger and this is what a lot of us are looking for, in order to be able to instruct from home and away from home”.

Former Harambee Star Captain and assistant coach Musa Otieno is also among the instructors in the course. Otieno says his target is to get knowledge and help Kenyan football.

“I can only say education is power, and for me to be a CAF instructor is to get the knowledge and help Kenyan football, for those of us who are selected for the course we must share the ideas we get, as all of Kenya is waiting for us” Says Musa Otieno.
