Fagaria People FC wins the Nakuru six-aside tournament

Fagaria People FC registered a win in their opening match, drew their second match, then won their third match before registering another draw in their fourth match.

Defending champions Ever stars garnered six points and won a hundred thousand shillings after winning their first match and registering draws in all the other matches.

Nakuru Griffons finished in third place in the competition that is sponsored by Betpawa. Nakuru Griffons pocketed six points after registering one point in each of their first three matches and winning their last match. The other teams that participated were gifted balls and uniforms.

Tom Aston Onyango who is Fagari’s point-man was given the award of the best player and Javan Otieno from Nakuru Griffons was crowned the best goal keeper of the tournament.

Simon Mwangi, who is the Marketing Coordinator for Betpawa says over a hundred and twenty clubs from the grassroots registered for this year's participation.

Mwangi also added that they seek to motivate the clubs in the ward that are going through financial constraints. As the sponsorship seek to provide financial and material support for the soccer players from the local villages and they get nurtured to play professional football both in the country and outside country

The tournaments have also taken place in Mombasa and Kisumu Counties and there are intentions to hold similar tournaments for 3 months in the counties of Kakamega, Machakos and Embu.
