Look Up Digital has established major cracks that have developed between President William Ruto’s led government and Raila Odinga’s led Azimio la Umoja Dialogue teams.
A source allied to the State House spoke exclusively to Look Up Digital and revealed that President William Ruto and his dialogue team are not speaking in unison regarding the Dialogue that is supposed to happen between the Government and Azimio la Umoja.
The source that sought anonymity divulged that President William Ruto wants stability in the country even if it meant bringing Azimio la Umoja’s Principal onboard something that doesn't sit well with the dialogue team that is led by Kimani Ichung’wah.
“The President is after the country’s peace even if it means bringing Raila Odinga into Government, something that the Dialogue team is against.” The source disclosed.
On Friday night in Mombasa, President William Ruto secretly met with opposition leader Raila Odinga of the Azimio la Umoja One Kenya alliance in the presence of former Nigerian President Olusegun Obasanjo. This began a chain of events that culminated in the announcement of negotiations involving five representatives from each side.
Look Up Digital Understands that the details of the meeting remain unknown to both camps.
Minority leader Kimani Ichung’wah and his Kenya Kwanza team maintain power sharing is and will not be part of the talks.
On the Azimio la Umoja’s side however Kileleshwa MCA Robert Alai called out several notable people allied to the opposition.
The MCA has downplayed the importance of former president Uhuru Kenyatta and Narc Kenya leader Martha Karua.
Alai claimed in a statement that the Wiper Party, led by Kalonzo Musyoka, and the Democratic Alliance Party of Kenya (DAP-K), led by Eugene Wamalwa, are the only parties that the ODM party, led by Raila Odinga, values.
In a statement to the media on Monday, Azimio announced that its delegation will be led by Kalonzo Musyoka and include Opiyo Wandayi, the leader of the Minority Party, and Eugene Wamalwa, the leader of the DAP Party. Others are Malindi MP Amina Mnyazi and Nyamira Senator Okon'go Omogeni.
The 5 member team has elicited numerous conversations, in a statement released by EALA MP pointed out that other parties had no place in ODM.
“Jubilee, PNU, NARC K, Usawa, And MORE IMPORTANTLY MT. KENYA has no space in Azimio! I have always told them, Ona Sasa!” the statement read in part.
Political analysts say the Anti-government protests have never been about the cost of living but to create positions for some people and that it is a matter of time before the country separates chuff from grains as the deal brokered by President William Ruto and Raila Odinga will soon be known and it will catch the country as a surprise.
