The driver and the bodyguard of Trade and Investment Chief Administrative Secretary (CAS) Evans Kidero are among those who survived the horrifying Londiani road accident that took place along the Nakuru- Kericho highway and killed over fifty-five people on the night of 30th June 2023.
Through a statement shared by his communication officer Jack Nduri, Kidero disclosed that his driver and bodyguard were among the victims of the gruesome road accident where a driver of a trailer lost control and hit several cars.
Kidero also added that his driver Christiano and bodyguard Wuod Asumbi who were heading to Kisumu to run some errands were in a black range rover with the registration number KBS 786R which was hit on the backside.
In a video, the two were heard narrating what took place, One of them is heard saying they were hit by the trailer that lost control but they are safe and can see several dead bodies lying on the ground.
On the other hand, reports on the incident show that the trailer which lost control ran over several people including pedestrians. The incident was confirmed by the Londiani OCPD Agnes Kunga on the night of 30th June disclosing that several people who suffered injuries were rushed to Londiani, Nakuru and Kericho hospitals.
