Prime Cabinet Secretary Musalia Mudavadi is pleading with the Jubilee party, led by Former President Uhuru Kenyatta, to embrace the outcome of the NADCO report, saying it has 'the best interest of the country'
Speaking during a thanksgiving ceremony of Devolution PS Teresia Mbaika in Makueni County, Musalia Mudavadi emphasized that the National Dialogue Committee had fulfilled its role to foster peace between the two political parties and the people of Kenya, emphasizing that it's time to move forward.
“If Kalonzo and Ichung’wah, the chairs of NADCO have approved the report, then it is Jubilee that is bringing complications among the Azimio coalition. Why is it that Uhuru Kenyatta and his team do not want to respect the results?”
“Let us respect that due process. The report will be tabled in parliament and they will give us directions,” he added.
The Jubilee party led by Secretary General Jeremy Kioni expressed dissatisfaction with the report, citing its failure to address the cost of living. However, he assured that despite this disagreement, the party remains united within the Azimio Coalition.
The committee concluded its hearings and submitted the report last month setting in motion a parliamentary process that will see the implementation of the recommendations on various issues
The report however elicited different reactions with Azimio Co-Principals like Martha Karua and Eugene Wamalwa distancing themselves from the report saying that it fails to address key issues that are affecting Kenyans
