The Ethics and Anti-Corruption commission has now directed its attention on former interior CS Dr, Fred Matiangi. The EACC has now launched an investigation into how the former CS made his wealth.
In a letter seen by Look Up Digital the Commission has written to the Head of Civil Service Felix Koskei asking to be availed with the wealth declaration forms that the former CS submitted when he was sworn into office in 2013.
"The Commission wishes to request for Certified Copies of Declaration of Income, Assets and Liabilities forms for years 2012 to 2022, including the initial and final declarations," the letter reads in part.
In the letter signed by the chief Executive Officer of EACC Twalib Mbarak, the commission confirmed that it is carrying out investigations on the former CS.
"The Commission is carrying out investigations involving Dr. Fred Matiang'i, former Cabinet Secretary for Interior and Coordination of National Government," the letter reads.
"Our officers Mr. Abdul Low and Mr. Paul Mugwe will be available to collect the documents."
The EACC is the latest organization to go after Matiangi after the DCI launched investigations in connection over a fake raid claim on his current home.
Matiangi’s predicament deepens barely six months after he left office.
