Dennis Itumbi Reveals Reasons Behind President William Ruto’s Weight Loss

President William Ruto's digital strategist, Dennis Itumbi has revealed a rigorous program they followed to achieve significant weight loss. 

Speaking to an online interview, Itumbi shared that their weight loss journey that included strict fasting protocols.

He explained that they adopted a regimen in which they would only consume one meal every two days, combined with regular exercise routines to reduce excess body fat.

"The weight loss program we undertook with the president was centred around fasting. We followed an exceptionally strict fasting regimen, with only one meal every two days, accompanied by a modest 30-minute daily walk as our exercise routine. It was indeed a highly intensive approach, and at times, I also engaged in additional activities," Itumbi explained.

Both the President and Itumbi have faced intense online scrutiny due to their noticeable weight loss. 

This scrutiny has led to speculation regarding their health, a concern that Itumbi has dismissed by asserting that they are both in good health.

In May, President Ruto reassured Kenyans about his well-being, addressing his weight loss. He explained that he had gained excess weight during the election campaigns due to irregular eating habits.

"I had an original fitness routine that went off track over the last one and a half to two years. During the election period, there is immense pressure, and sometimes, that pressure leads to irregular eating habits," Ruto stated. 

He continued, "There's so much to do, and you don't find time for exercise. You end up eating whenever you can, and sometimes, you tend to overeat because you're uncertain when your next meal will be."

Considering the responsibilities that came with the presidency, Ruto made a conscious decision to shed the excess weight.
