Kenyan comedian Eric Omondi has been handed a prison sentence for his involvement in an unlawful assembly and picketing incident outside the parliament.
Back in February, Eric Omondi took the lead in a unique protest outside the parliament building, going shirtless for the cause.
Alongside a group of muscular men, they organized a peaceful demonstration that briefly disrupted traffic on the bustling city streets.
Omondi and his robust companions passionately chanted the "Mapambano" song, calling for immediate government action to alleviate the high cost of living.
This protest was documented in an Instagram video, showing the men carrying placards during their nonviolent march.
Law enforcement officers were observed diligently preventing the demonstrators from gaining access to the parliament premises.
Subsequently, both the comedian and his shirtless supporters, often referred to as his bouncers, found themselves in court today.
They were met with a one-month jail sentence as their punishment or the option to post KSh 10,000 as bail money.
