City Lawyer Donald Kipkorir Denies Lesedi Developer Director is his client

Lawyer Donald kipkorir has come out to deny claims that embattled Lesedi Developers director Geoffrey kiragu, is his client in a defamatory case against three leading media houses.

Kiragu termed the allegations that he scammed potential customers seeking to be land and homeowners by selling them non-existent land in Kiambu and Nakuru counties and accumulating 1 billion shillings as false.

On his Twitter handle on 18th January, the lawyer Kipkorir said

“I am informed that on his Social Media feeds, Geoffrey Kiragu of Lesedi Developers alleges I am his lawyer. I’ve no issue representing any client on instructions & if the matter passes my ethical test. But though Mr. Kiragu called me, didn’t instruct me & we haven’t met.”

Kiragu had taken to his Facebook threatening to sue three leading media houses and other parties on defamation charges, claiming that he had contacted the lawyer to take up the case.

This was after a publication on 11th January 2023 that detailed how tens of investors reported how they had lost their hard millions of shillings to the developer.

The investors had stormed Lesedi offices in Thika a week earlier demanding a refund narrating how they had lost their hard-earned money but never getting the promised land nor the title deeds.

Others investors claimed that Kiragu issued them with bouncing bank cheques upon asking him for refunds.

Many of the victims claimed they trusted Lesedi developers after vigour advertisements on social media and vernacular radio stations and also the use of popular influencers
