As Form one students continue to report to various secondary schools across the country, a young boy's dream in Narok County hangs in the balance due to the lack of school fees.
The form one admission exercise which started on Monday the 6th expects to see close to 800,000 students transition to high school, however, this transition may not be 100 % as some families still are struggling to send their children to the next level of education.
Ephraim Kamuicho Nyambura Maina garnered 384 marks in his KCPE and is currently stuck at home as his family cannot afford to raise school fees for him to join Kagumo high school.
Maina beat all odds to score impressive marks in the 2022 KCPE at Entepesi primary school.
His dream of becoming an engineer in future now seems bleak as he is stuck at home struggling to raise money for school fees and other requirements to advance his high school education.
Ephraim’s mother Margaret Nyambura is now calling on well-wishers to come to his aid and rescue him from dropping out of school.
The mother who depends on casual labour says it has become difficult for her to sponsor her sons’ education as she has other responsibilities waiting on her like nursing their ailing grandmother.
His teachers at Entepesi have described him as a hardworking student who has a bright future ahead of him if he gets the necessary support he needs to continue with his education.
Ephraim has now been left to help with chores at home as he hopes for a miracle that will see him advance his education.
