Former Chelsea and Paris St Germain coach Thomas Tuchel is now the new head coach of Bayern Munich. During his reign at Chelsea, Tuchel recorded poor performance leading to his sacking from the club by Chelsea`s new administration.
The 49-year-old was appointed Chelsea manager during the reign of former owner Roman Abramovic.
His appointment was after, Frank Lampard, who is also the club’s legend, recorded a poor performance with the blues.
Tuchel replaces Julian Nagelsmann who has since left the club due to poor performance. Julian Nagelsmann was appointed head on 27 April on a five-year deal contract. The Bundesliga champions seem to be struggling in the league, currently sitting second with 52 points with Borussia Dortmund leading with 53 points.
Thomas Tuchel has been out of the managerial job after being sacked by Todd Boehly in September.
However, he was being linked with several clubs including the recent one Real Madrid.
If appointed, he has a task ahead of him with his very first test being when they host rivals and former club Borussia Dortmund at Allianz Arena.
Tuchel who is known for coaching top talents in the world including Neymar and Mbappe who both play for French side club Paris St Germain is hopeful of clinching major trophies.
His second test will be when they face English Premier League champions Manchester City in the quarter final of the Uefa Champions League next month. The ties will see Pep Guardiola face his former side with the winner facing either Chelsea or Real Madrid.
Nagelsmann has won 60 matches out of 84 games since taking charge in July 2021 and he has lifted just one Bundesliga trophy and two German Super Cups across his tenure.
Before breaking for international games, Bayern had lost 2-1 against Bayern Leverkusen.
