Insecurity has become a chronic wound in this country for a while now. Areas of the Rift Valley have been the most affected due to lack of security and livestock theft.

If this disaster continues to be a problem, especially in the areas of the Rift Valley, the question is, what has contributed to the increase in livestock theft cases?

According to the security issues Expert Doctor Likaka Lichetu, cultural methods in these areas are one of the factors that contribute to the increase of livestock theft in addition to the lack of motivation among the residents of these areas.

Kenya has witnessed more than one hundred cases of livestock theft throughout the country in West Pokot, Samburu, Baringo, Turkana, Kajiado and Elgeyo-Marakwet while only some areas witnessed many cases of lack of livestock security.

These cases of invasion in the areas of West Pokot and Elgeyo Marakwet involving livestock theft Doctor Lichetu added that it is a must for the government to do a motivation in these areas to remove the concept that livestock theft is the main pillar of life.

“It is a must for the government to do a motivation in the areas of West Pokot and Elgeyo Marakwet involving livestock theft to remove the concept that livestock theft is the main pillar of life.” Expert Doctor Likaka Lichetu said.

The Internal CS Kithure Kindiki issued a strong warning to livestock thieves throughout the country that the government will deal with them to the extent of its capacity.

As well as President William Ruto ordered the GSU soldiers to curb the increased attacks in the capital city of Nairobi.

The question is, will President Ruto and CS Kindiki fulfill the promises they made in relation to fighting livestock theft? And which technology exactly will be given a bar ahead to win the war against insecurity?
