All Eyes on Kenya Cup Clash Between KCB and Kabras Sugar

The two teams have for a decade served rugby lovers with an entertaining game since their first Kenya Cup clash which mostly determined the destination of league titles.

The two teams are in good form with KCB sitting top of the table with 45 points having registered nine bonus point wins in nine consecutive leagues.

Kabras Sugar, who are the defending champions, sit second with 44 points, have also won nine matches but have collected one less bonus point as well as conceding the least amount of points this season.

KCB defeated host Menengai Oilers 6-12 in Nakuru while Kabras registered a 47-6 home victory over Strathmore Leos at Bukhungu Stadium.

On February 26, 2022, the two teams met at the same venue, with KCB winning the clash 28-20, despite the loss, Kabras won the 2021/ 2022 Kenya cup title.

Both sides have named their strong squad ahead of the much-awaited clash which may see each side putting a strong defence that could force penalties.

According to KCB RFC assistant Coach `Ironman` Mwanja, they are ready for the clash and promised their fans an entertaining game.

“Over the years, this clash has been mouth-watering, and I am certain the weekend encounter will not be any different. We are expecting an entertaining game”. Reckons Denis Mwanja.

The Bankers will depend on the likes of Curtis Lilako, Oscar Simiyu, Martin Owilah, Peter Waitere, Felix Ojoo, and Andrew Amonde who will lead in the forward.

Samwel Asati , Darwin Mukidza , Jacob Ojee, Elphas Adunga and Mike Kimwele are the Bankers backline.

On their hand, Defending Kabras will deploy Hilary Mwanjiwa, Asuman Mugerwa, Eugen Sifuna, Dan Sikuta, and George Nyambua in their forward while Jone Kubu, Ntabeni Dukisa, Alfred Orege, and Walter Okoth will be their backline.
