Korogocho MCA Absalom Odhiambo alias Matakwey has been charged with incitement to violence.

He was accused that on January 25 at Jaramogi Oginga Odinga foundation in Capital Hill, uttered inciting words which implied to cause anarchy in the country.

The prosecution alleged that the MCA said, "Kwa siasa ya Taifa tunataka tutoke kwenda ikulu.... hakuna biashara itaendelea hii town ya Nairobi,  ndio William Ruto aheshimu Raila Odinga."

Matakwey faced a second count of using threatening abusive words with intent to provoke peace on the same day and place.

The MCA pleaded not guilty to two charges levelled against him of incitement to violence before Milimani chief magistrate Lukas Onyina and was released on a cash bail Ksh 100,000.

Odhiambo was arrested for a second time over charges of incitement on Saturday, February 4, just a day after the court ordered his unconditional release on February 1, after Milimani Court magistrate Gilbert Shikwe argued that the incitement to violence charge levelled against him was not based on existent law.

This comes hours after Azimio leader Raila Odinga onMonday  demanded for  Matakwey  who had been arrested and placed under police custody be released.
