Manchester United edged out Brighton and Hove Albion in the semi-finals on Sunday night at Wembley Stadium. Both teams had equal strength after the full-time whistle and after the extra time.

Therefore a barren draw was registered hence the decision of who to qualify to play for the finals was decided through penalties.

The Red Devils netted all six penalties while the Seagull missed their sixth penalty which was taken by their incredible winger Solly March who shot the penalty out of target giving Man United an opportunity to fulfill their dreams to play in the finals of this year.

Manchester City on their hand, won comfortably on Saturday against Sheffield United where they registered a heavy win of 3-0. Algerian winger Riyad Mahrez scored a hat-trick to secure the Cityzen’s way to the finals.

After the play of the two semi-final fixtures, now all eyes are up to the final that is scheduled to kick off on the tenth of June this year at Wembley Stadium where Manchester City will battle their rival neighbours Manchester United.

Both teams have won four of their last ten meetings, one ending in a barren draw. This season Manchester City thrashed Man United 6-3 in the first leg before the Red Devils revenging with 2-1 in the second leg at Old Trafford.
