A Man Killed By Mob After Stubbing Girlfriend 7 Times

A Kirinyaga man was on Sunday 8, January 2023 lynched by a mob in Mururi town for what is suspected to be a love triangle.

Speaking to Look UP Digital, witnesses said that the knife-wielding man invaded his girl's rented room, after accusing her of cheating. He then locked the room and proceeded to stab her seven times.

Residents responded to the woman's cries for assistance by entering the room through the roof and rescuing her.

The angry mob attacked the attacker with clubs and rocks, rendering him helpless.

Acting on a tip-off, police arrived on the scene and drove both the victim and the attacker to Kerugoya Referral Hospital, where they were both admitted in severe condition. However, the man died while receiving treatment.

Joseph Wachira a witness, said that the Man had vowed to kill someone before screams were heard.

“The man vowed to kill someone. A few minutes later, we heard a commotion inside the room which was followed by a scream” he Said

The woman was severely hurt in the incident, but she was recovering well from care, according to Millicent Ochuka of the Kirinyaga East Sub-County Directorate of Criminal Investigations. 

She declared that inquiries into the incident had begun.
