LGBTQ Activist Edwin Kiprotich alias "Chiloba" has been laid to rest today at his matrimonial home in Sergoit village in Elegeyo -Marakwet County.
The slain model has been eulogized as a good man with a gentle spirit who has left an incredible mark in the fashion industry.
Hundreds are paying their last respects to him in his father's home in Sergoit village in Elegeyo-Marakwet county.
The family Spokesman Gaudencia Tanui explained that the family of the deceased will bury him in line with Kalenjin burial rites.
“We shall observe all our community burial traditions. Since he was still a bachelor, his body will be moved straight from the mortuary to the funeral service ahead of his internment,” she explained.
Chiloba was found murdered earlier this month stashed in a metal box in Kipkaren, Eldoret Uasin Gishu county.
Five suspects including three minors are being held in police custody in connection with the murder.
They include the key suspect, Jacktone Odhiambo, who lived with Chiloba in the Kimumu region and will be charged on January 31.
A post-mortem examination found that he died of hypoxia, which is suffocation caused by a lack of oxygen in the body.
"The cause of death was suffocation by smothering of the nose and mouth, causing him to be unable to breathe," the post-mortem report stated.
