The Directorate of Criminal Investigations (DCI) is investigating Four Jomo Kenyatta University of Agriculture and Technology freshmen who are believed to be members of a group responsible for the violent robberies in Kayole, Juja, and Ruai.
This comes after an undercover team of police officers based at Makadara, Ruai, Embakasi and Kayole police stations did a joint operation last evening
The officers, arrested a 19-year-old Kenyatta University student after following a tip from members of the public that he belongs to a deadly criminal gang.
The suspect led the officers to other three fellow accomplices Richard Lankisa aged 18, Brian Kituku aged 19 and Emmanuel Nyangwencha aged 18 who live at Benson apartments in Juja container area.
The suspects are pursuing a degree course in Development Studies at Jomo Kenyatta University of Agriculture and Technology.
Following a thorough search in their single room, a Glock pistol, 8 used 9×19mm special cartridges, one empty pistol magazine, one white plastic face mask, and 2 laptops believed to have been stolen were recovered
The scene was processed by DCI Thika crime scene detectives, and the suspects were escorted to Juja police station for further questioning and arraignment in court.
