24-year-old Man Dies While Swimming in River Nzoia

Residents in Sikokhe village, Busia county reeled in shock after a decomposed body of a 24-year-old was found floating in River Nzoia.

John Ochieno is said to have drowned while swimming around midday before his body was discovered by friends and locals.

Confirming the incident, Locals reported that the late was drowned after being overpowered by water while attempting to swim.

Elders from Sikokhe village urge the residents to avoid swimming or taking baths in River Nzoia as there has been a raise in deaths among locals.

The deceased's body was taken to the Port Victoria Hospital mortuary for an autopsy.
